Amplifying engagement
Part of 5G since 3GPP Release-17, Non-Terrestrial
Networks enable global coverage for a wide range of
applications that require both high availability and high
resilience. April’s ETSI Conference on Non-Terrestrial
Networks investigated the role of NTN as a native
component of tomorrow’s 6G systems, where NTN
is expected to provide increased performances and
service capabilities compared with its implementation
in 5G. Co-organized with the ESA, 6G-IA and the SNS-JU,
the two-day event addressed topics including use cases
for NTN in 6G, architecture frameworks and interfaces
to enable native NTN integration, and standardization
strategies for NTN in 6G.
