universities and other educational organizations do not
yet offer relevant training courses and related materials
on ICT standardization.
Our Education about Standardization (EaS) programme
aims to bridge this gap, providing comprehensive teaching
resources aimed not only at lecturers and students but
also administrations, NSOs and commercial companies.
These materials are complemented by other educational
initiatives that frequently feature collaboration with other
stakeholders in the standardization ecosystem.
Building on past achievements, 2024 has seen the
launch of a three-year project dedicated to promoting
training in standardization with the development of
several new resources.
The ETSI website has been enhanced with the addition
of a new ‘LEARN’ area, serving as a readily accessible
focus for ETSI’s vast repository of educational material.
Videos and slide sets cover a wide range of topics, ranging
from simple technology overviews to detailed technical
presentations. Plans are meanwhile in development
for the launch of an eLearning application to enhance
the learning experience. Our existing suite of materials
also continues to be expanded and updated with new
modules on topics such as Open Source.
Recent activities have meanwhile included lectures
delivered at the University of Luxembourg in the
framework of their Master MTECH course. In July 2024

Advancement through Standardization’ at the week-long
Summer School course by Utrecht University Summer
School on ‘Global Power and Technology’.
