TIMES has delivered twenty-one contributions to ETSI Industry Specification Group TeraHertz (ISG THz), making a direct impact on ISG THz published deliverables and actively shaping the technical foundations for the development and standardisation of THz communications (0.1 – 10 THz).
A total of 21 contributions were provided by the TIMES project to ETSI ISG THz. The contributions focused on Work Items (WIs) 1 to 4 and were incorporated into the relevant deliverables for those WIs.
Specifically:
- Four out of 19 use cases defined by ETSI ISG THz WI1 (Use cases) are directly based on the contributions from TIMES.
- TIMES contribution on the regulatory situation of spectrum between 252 and 450 GHz and identification of frequencies of interest for THz communications were incorporated in the output of WI2 (Frequency bands) on THz Frequency bands.
- Channel measurements and models developed within TIMES and contributed to WI3 formed a basis for the THz channel modelling parameters for industrial environments defined in ETSI ISG THz WI3 (Channel measurements and modelling).
- Impact of the hardware limitations on the sub-THz transmitted waveforms was accounted for by providing a measurement-based power amplifier nonlinearity model, which has an impact on the transmission power that is crucial at the sub-THz band, as contributed to WI4 (RF Hardware modelling).
TIMES contributions strongly shaped the following ETSI ISG THz deliverables.

ETSI GR THz 002 V1.1.1 (2024-03): “TeraHertz technology (THz); Identification of frequency bands of interest for THz communication systems”.
