Pol Alemany
ETSI Ambassador for Research Spain
Pol Alemany received both the B.Sc. and the M.Sc. degrees in Telecommunication Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in 2013 and 2017, respectively. During that period, he received an Erasmus grant (2012-2013) to study at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany, and during his M.Sc. studies, he had the opportunity to work in the IT systems of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), allowing him to discover different cultures.
Since July 2017, he has been part of the CTTC Packet Optical Networks and Services (PONS) Research Unit (RU) and has been involved in multiple National and European funded projects researching different network technologies (e.g., SDN/NFV, DLTs (e.g., Blockchain), security). He obtained his PhD (2023) focused on Network Slicing and SDN/NFV networks security and trustworthiness.
Finally, in 2024 he was selected as ETSI Rapporteur for one of the CRA-related harmonized standards drafts, which led him to become an ETSI Ambassador. As an ETSI Ambassador, Pol Alemany looks forward to helping people and entities with different perspectives reach a common agreement for the best standards possible.
