Dr. Beatrice Peirani is the standardization expert at Thales, specialized on advanced IT security and cryptographic technologies.
She served ten years working as a national French expert in different standardization committees (AFNOR, CEN, ETSI) to develop the standards on electronic signature required by the EU regulation. Dr. Peirani was selected as an expert by the European Commission to produce the supportive technical standardization framework.
She is now using her broad expertise in GlobalPlatform and FIDO Alliance.
More specifically, since 2016, Dr. Peirani is the Chair of GlobalPlatform’s Crypto Sub-Task Force, which evaluates and recommends cryptographic algorithms for the banking and transport industries as well as for security government programs.
As an active member of the FIDO Alliance, she pushed for the definition of a new security certification methodology for mobile security software solutions. She is co-chair of the Post-Quantum Cryptography Study Group and of the Security & Privacy Working Group.
