ETSI ISG ZSM defines the End-to-End network and service management framework for multi-domain, multi‑technology and multi-layer networks with hierarchical service management domains. The management and control of F5G Advanced networks is an instance of the ZSM architecture applied to optical communication networks.
The figure below shows the F5G Advanced E2E management and control system architecture, which adds hierarchical domain controllers and an E2E orchestrator to the F5G Advanced network topology defined in ETSI GS F5G 024.
ETSI GS F5G 022 defines the industrial PON system architecture. The PON Management System (PMS) is an instance of management plane in the industrial PON system. It provides equipment access, network monitoring, efficient configuration, secure access control, high reliability, and network latency and service quality assurance capabilities.
The ETSI ISG F5G YANG Models for PON based Industrial Network provide the new functionalities for industrial network scenarios. The modules address the service configurations, PON protection and power management for PON based Industrial Network. They are used in the device management layer of the OLT and facing the NBI of the OLT and subtending ONUs. The specification augments (see figure below) existing PON management specifications including BBF TR-383 and BBF TR-385, which are based on the IETF YANG models for several concepts in the management model tree.
