Junior Applications Support & QA Engineer (M/F)
The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), based in Sophia-Antipolis (06), is looking for a Junior Applications Support & QA Engineer on a permanent contract (CDI).
Based in Sophia Antipolis, ETSI is looking for a Junior Applications Support & QA Engineer to integrate into its ITC Division, within the Applications team.
The ideal candidate will help strengthen our internal software testing practices and provide support to end-users, while contributing to the design and implementation of our team’s QA strategy, under the supervision of a more senior team member. For this hybrid profile, typical tasks include providing level 3 support and conducting end-to-end testing across various applications, with the possibility of contributing to the implementation of test automation.

Activities
The Junior Applications Support & QA Engineer will assist in ensuring the quality, stability, and ongoing maintenance of IT applications through testing, issue investigation, and user support.
This role includes the following tasks:
- Support end-users and help resolve technical or functional issues on-demand.
- Reproduce and analyze reported behaviours.
- Register defects in the development and maintenance team backlogs.
- Liaise with software development engineers to propose solutions for users, with guidance.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to validate work delivered, for continuous improvement.
- Write and run test cases and test plans.
- Log and track bugs/defects and test results.
- Perform manual end-to-end testing in collaboration with development and maintenance teams.
- Help improve the maintenance team’s quality assurance (QA) processes and tools.
- Support deployments and post-release checks.
- Analyze feasibility and assist in proposing solutions for test automation.
- Support the development of automated tests for critical applications.
- Help create and maintain support documentation.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards.
Profile
This hybrid role requires a proactive and user-centric profile, with a good understanding of web applications, the information model, and the tools used to manage it.
Candidatures are particularly welcome from individuals with the following profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering or equivalent.
- Experience in web applications testing.
- Knowledge of data modeling, analysis, and transformation using appropriate languages (e.g., SQL, scripting languages) is highly valuable.
Experience with REST API testing and troubleshooting is a plus. - Experience in supporting IT applications end-users, investigating their issues, and providing effective solutions.
- Basic knowledge of backlog triaging and management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps).
- Ability to work within an applications maintenance team using Kanban or similar agile frameworks.
- Good communication skills, both written and oral, to collaborate effectively with users, product owners, and development teams.
- Interest and experience in test automation tools is an advantage.
- Fluency in English (both oral and written).
