1) Junior Technical Officer

We are looking for a Junior Technical Officer in the Operations Division, based in Sophia Antipolis, French Riviera, to provide support to ETSI Technical Bodies.

You will work within the Spectrum and Equipment Regulation (SPR) Department, part of the Operations Division of the ETSI Secretariat.

The position is appropriate for a recently-qualified engineer. It includes the following key responsibilities:

  • Act as prime ETSI Secretariat contact for the ETSI Technical Committees (or other ETSI Technical Bodies (TB)) to which (s)he is assigned.
  • Check that ETSI deliverables are fit for purpose, in line with ETSI requirements for technical and editorial quality and meet the necessary regulatory requirements.
  • Verify the operation of the TBs under the ETSI Directives, advise them on procedural and drafting matters and promote best practice.
    Provide reports of TB activities, and ensure that their Decisions and Actions are recorded and followed up.

Applications will be particularly welcomed from candidates having the following profile:

  • University degree or equivalent in Electronic or Telecommunication Engineering, with a strong knowledge of radio technology.
  • An appreciation of legal, standardization or regulatory issues would be beneficial, but full training will be given to a successful candidate with the necessary technical skills.
  • Self-motivated, enquiring and positive attitude, with willingness to learn and become autonomous rapidly.
  • Excellent written and oral communication in English.
  • Ability to travel internationally, if required.

Call for expertise in Specialists Task Forces (STFs)

Throughout the year, ETSI issues calls for expertise for Specialist Task Forces (STFs) which support the standardization work of the Technical Organization. Candidatures must be proposed by an ETSI Member Organization, but valuable candidatures from companies which are not ETSI Members may also be considered if the candidature is proposed by the Official Contact of an ETSI Member.
