ETSI in cooperation with the European Emergency Number Association (EENA) is organizing the 1st ever emergency communications interoperability Plugtests™ event to be held in Europe with the support of ETSI SC EMTEL. This event will be located in Sophia-Antipolis from 14 to 18 March 2016.

The concept of "Next Generation 112" (NG112) has been identified as a potential answer to the increasing requirements and demands of content-rich emergency calling. The interoperability of such NG112 products and services has not been tested in Europe previously leading to this ideal opportunity.

This NG112 Emergency Communications Plugtests™ event will see a testing campaign based on the use cases developed by ETSI and EENA and is a unique chance for vendors of emergency communication equipment to test their product against different implementations and scenarios.
Please note that the event is covered by a Non-Disclosure Agreement which sets out the terms of a fair and non-discriminatory participation, i.e. vendors are free to publish their attendance to the event, and interoperability results shall be treated as confidential information.

The benefits for a vendor in participating include a chance to test early implementations in a neutral environment, to validate their understanding of next generation emergency calling requirements as well as a to communicate about and promote the technology.
An event not to be missed, if you want to be sure your products and implementations are fit for the next generation emergency calling requirements.

Registration is now open. It will close on 15 January 2016.

This activity is supported by the European Commission.

The goal of the NG112 Communication Plugtest event is to validate the interoperability and conformity of a variety of different solutions on the market using different scenarios and test cases. The tests will be based on the Next Generation 112 Long Term Definition document (NG112 LTD), 3GPP, ETSI and IETF standards.

Overview of the architecture:

The purpose and scope of the NG112 Communication Plugtests is to trial independently and jointly all components of the 112 communication chain based on NG112 networks such as:

– location & location based call routing
– audio, video, real-time text
– policy based routing
– LTD functional elements
– recording and logging.

Three preparation conference calls were held, for which the attendance was free and did not necessitate to have registered to the event.

Link to the recording of the first call:

From 14th January until 10th March 2016, calls will be held every other week on Thursdays from 1400 to 1500 CET and will be restricted to registered participants only: the invitation is sent upon registration.

From 14 to 18 March 2016, a free shuttle service will be organized for participants with pick-up points in Juan les Pins and Antibes in the morning and return to Juan les Pins and Antibes after the testing sessions.

Please find hereafter a list of hotels in the neighborhood with the negotiated rates applicable in 2015: Hotels.

At the time of publication of this webpage, the 2016 rates are not available yet.
