TTA and ETSI, 2 of the founding Partners of oneM2M Partnership Project, are pleased to organize the 3rd oneM2M Interop event taking place from 29 November to 2 December 2016 in the ANA Crowne Plaza Kobe hotel, in Kobe, Japan.

This event will take place just before the oneM2M TP#26 meeting, which will be held from 5 to 9 December 2016, in Kobe.

The purpose of this event is to verify the primitive’s interoperability as defined in the oneM2M standards and to check end-to-end functionality on oneM2M interfaces Mca and Mcc.

The implementations needs to support at least one of the oneM2M protocol bindings (HTTP, CoAP or MQTT).

Interoperability test scenarios from TS-0013 (interoperability testing) are proposed to participants. The testing will be based on the oneM2M Update Release 1 and Release 2 standards:

  • TS-0001 (Functional Architecture)
  • TS-0004 (Service Layer Core Protocol)
  • TS-0008 (CoAP Protocol Binding)
  • TS-0009 (HTTP Protocol Binding)
  • TS-0010 (MQTT Protocol Binding)

This Interoperability event offers test sessions where companies can assess the level of interoperability of their implementations and verify the correct interpretation of the oneM2M standards.

The Interop Event also proposes to participants to run some Conformance Testing to help them to debug their products.

Please note that the interoperability results are not to be public as the event is covered by a Non-Disclosure Agreement.

This activity is supported by the European Commission.

All participants must be registered for the event in order to receive their credentials to access the WIKI and be subscribed to the mailing list dedicated to this event. Companies registered shall have at least one person on site during the event. The registration deadline is 14 November 2016.
Every first person in a company to register to this event is de facto the official contact, who can add new participants from this company with the credentials received upon first registration.

The event is free of charge and attendees are responsible for all other associated costs (travel, meals, etc.).

All participating companies must sign the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) that the official contact will receive upon registration. Companies will not be allowed to participate to the event if the NDA has not been signed. The deadline to return the signed NDAs to ETSI is 18 November 2016.

A special rate has been negotiated with the hotel for guest rooms, the relevant information is available in the Wiki, which is accessible upon registration to participate in the event.

Each day of the Interop event is concluded by a wrap-up session where the participants have the opportunity to share technical information and raise discussions about the issues they faced during the testing. This is also an excellent way to clarify their understanding of the standards.

All the issues discovered but also the possible improvements of the specifications will be provided as  feedback to the oneM2M Working Groups for further standardization activities.

In addition to the Interoperability testing, the event gives the opportunity to companies to run Conformance test sessions in order to check the conformity of the products to oneM2M standard.
