ETSI, in partnership with 5GAA, is organizing the 1st C‑V2X Plugtests™ event, hosted by DEKRA in Malaga from 02 to 06 December 2019.

What are the objectives and scope of the Plugtests event?

C-V2X (Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything) is an Intelligent Transport System service using mobile communication technology for direct communication between vehicles, from vehicle to pedestrian and from vehicle to infrastructure.

The 1st C-V2X Plugtests event will enable vendors to run interoperability test sessions to assess the level of interoperability of their implementation and validate the understanding of the standards. The goal of interoperability testing is to check that devices resulting from protocol implementations can work together and provide the functionalities specified in the standards. Different topics will be addressed, including road hazard signaling, traffic sign violation and intersection collision risk warning.

The week-long face to face event will provide an opportunity to test CV2X devices, in both lab and field environments at Dekra Malaga site.

The test cases will be mainly based on ETSI ITS standards and 3GPP test specifications.

This event will trial the ITS eco system under real life conditions from infrastructure to applications in vehicles, thus demonstrating interoperability of CV2X equipment. This is a unique chance for solution providers to maximize the effectiveness of their ITS solutions in test environments.

What will be the advantages of attending the CV2X Plugtests event?

  • To assess the level of interoperability of your implementations
  • To validate your understanding of the standards
  • To test with (many) other real implementations and demonstrate end-to-end interoperability
  • To debug your implementation: early bug fixing, saving time and costs
  • To promote the technology and the ecosystem

Observers will be able to evaluate the test statistics in the TRT (Test reporting Tool) provided once they have signed the NDA of the C-V2X event.

ETSI Plugtests activities are supported by the European Commission.

Workshop December 4th 2019

The agenda is available at:

This event will be hosted by DEKRA: Parque Technológico de Andalucía C/ Severo Ochoa, 2 & 6, 29590 Málaga

All participants, observers included, MUST REGISTER to the event.

All participants are expected to register individually. Each first person in a company to register to this event is de facto the official contact for technical and logistics matters.

After signature of the RoE and NDA, participants will be invited to the preparation conference calls and be subscribed to the Plugtests mailing list dedicated to the CV2X Plugtests event.

Registrations closed on 15 November 2019.

The event is free of charge.

RoE and NDA

After registering to the CV2X Plugtests event, new participating organisations need to sign the Rules of Engagement (RoE) and Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) they will receive upon registration.

Upon signature of the Rules of Engagement (RoE) and Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) sent to the official contact, the participants will receive their credentials for the CV2X Plugtests WIKI and invitations to the preparation conference calls.

The deadline to sign the RoE and NDAs was 16 November 2019.

Information to prepare your travel is available in the WIKI, accessible upon signature of the Rules of Engagement and NDA.
