ETSI is pleased to endorse the 2020 IEEE Conference on Network Functions Virtualization and Software Defined Networking (IEEE NFV-SDN 2020) being the premier place for getting informed and discuss on the latest cutting-edge research results on NFV and SDN.

The conference fosters discussions and exchange between all ecosystem partners, across academia and throughout the provider industry. In 2020, IEEE NFV-SDN focuses on new or novel operational results related to virtualized networks functions (VNFs) as well as designing, describing, orchestrating, and managing new applications enabled by VNF and SDN with the goal to bring improved intelligence into networks and their operation.

The technical program committee has created an exciting program that disseminates the latest research in NFV and SDN. It features 14 high-quality full papers organized into five sessions, 5 fast-track papers grouped into two sessions discussing emerging challenges and ideas, a set of advanced demonstrations available in the networking area (Gather Town), five keynotes from leaders in industry and academia providing an overview on special focus topics, one industry-led panel considering problems and visions in the NFV-SDN area, two tutorials by renowned experts teaching real-world implementations, and two workshops complementing the conference on the topics of network slicing and mobile architecture, and the formal foundations of SDN.

In addition, IEEE NFV-SDN 2020 introduces to its conference for the first time a Doctoral Symposium; 14 submissions were received; selected were one early-stage and five later-stage PhD researchers; they will exchange their latest research with peers and mentors from industry and academia.
