ETSI Software Development Group OpenSlice (SDG OSL) is thrilled to announce the Release 2025Q2, marking a significant step forward in integrating advanced technologies and enhancing the user experience. This release reaffirms the group’s commitment to innovation and excellence in the ICT sector.

Key Highlights of the Release:

  • New Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server: Users can now interact with OpenSlice through intuitive, AI-driven chat, powered by Large Language Models (LLMs). By exposing functionalities as "tools" accessible via MCP Clients, OpenSlice significantly improves user-friendliness and operational efficiency.
  • New CAPIF Invoker Controller: Introducing 3GPP CAPIF “as a Service”. This new OSL add-on simplifies the registration and management of CAPIF invokers, enabling secure and consistent interaction with the 3GPP CAPIF Core Function. It integrates seamlessly with reference implementations such as ETSI SDG OpenCAPIF.
  • Redesigned Landing Page: A more intuitive experience awaits users. The updated design includes a metrics page that provides a comprehensive overview of the OpenSlice instance at a glance, improving usability and accessibility.
  • Enhanced CI/CD Pipelines: Improvements to the CI/CD pipelines ensure a more efficient, reliable, and streamlined deployment process.

This release marks SDG OpenSlice's entry into the AI and LLM era, transforming how users interact with its capabilities. By leveraging the power of AI-driven chat, OpenSlice makes complex processes more intuitive and accessible. The addition of 3GPP CAPIF support and successful integration with ETSI SDG OpenCAPIF, further demonstrates the group’s dedication to staying at the forefront of technological innovation and delivering robust, standardised solutions.

ETSI remains committed to driving innovation and supporting standardisation through its Software Development Groups (SDG), addressing the evolving needs of the ICT industry.
