ETSI is proud to announce the launch of TeraFlowSDN Release 5, bringing a host of new features to enhance network orchestration and automation capabilities.

Main advances include the integration of an IETF Network Slice Controller, SmartNIC support, enhanced telemetry capabilities, broader OpenFlow support and Zero Touch provisioning for white boxes, positioning this release as a powerful tool for operators to manage 5G networks and beyond.

The Network Slice Controller (NSC) streamlines the process of orchestrating network slices from initiation to implementation while the SmartNIC Support enables detailed context information management, such as manufacturers, models, serial numbers, and transceiver data. Telemetry capabilities ensure seamless data flow, reduced latency for critical applications, and improved monitoring. It also provides more efficient network troubleshooting.

As for OpenFlow support, it offers broader compatibility with OpenFlow domains. Finally, a Zero Touch Provisioning server will enable rapid deployment and management of network infrastructure with reduced manual configuration.

The SDG TFS Plenary, Hackfest and Ecosystem Day events took place earlier in May in Barcelona, where the new Network Slice Controller component was demonstrated. The meetings were collocated with ETSI SDG OpenSlice and ETSI ISG F5G (fixed fiber 5G networks) plenaries to allow cross-collaboration between different communities.

To know more about TFS Release 5 features, a dedicated Webinar will take place at the beginning of July, so stay tuned and check out our website event’s page to save the date!
