Applications Support & QA Engineer
The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), based in Sophia-Antipolis (06), is looking for an Applications Support & QA Engineer to integrate its ITC Division, within the Applications team.
Mission
The Applications Support & QA Engineer will ensure the quality, stability, and ongoing maintenance of IT applications through testing, issue investigation, and user support.
This role englobes the following tasks:
- Support end-users and resolve technical or functional issues on-demand.
- Reproduce and analyze reported behaviours.
- Work closely with software development engineers to find solutions for user needs.
- Liaise with the maintenance team to validate work delivered, for continuous improvement.
- Write and run test cases and test plans.
- Log and track bugs/defects and test results.
- Perform manual end-to-end testing, to ensure proper application maintenance.
- Help improve the maintenance team’s quality assurance (QA) processes and tools.
- Support deployments and post-release checks.
- Analyze feasibility and propose solutions for automating tests.
- Develop automated tests to boost efficiency, for critical applications.
- Create and maintain support documentation.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards.
Profile
This hybrid role requires a proactive and user-centric profile, who has a good understanding of web applications and a deep knowledge of the information model, and the tools used to manage it.
Candidatures are particularly welcome from candidates having the following profile:
- At least a bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering, or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in web applications testing.
- Experience with REST API testing and troubleshooting (highly recommended).
- Experience in supporting IT applications end-users, investigating their issues, and providing effective solutions.
- Familiarity with backlog triaging and management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps).
- Solid knowledge of modeling, analyzing, and transforming data using appropriate languages (e.g., SQL, scripting languages).
- Ability to work with an applications maintenance team in a Kanban format to validate work across test environments.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and suppliers, both in writing and orally.
- Ideally, experience in setting up and using test automation tools.
- Fluency in English (both oral and written).
