TTCN-3 Tool Plugtests™

About this Plugtests™Event

The ETSI TC MTS and the ETSI interoperability event service are pleased to host the first TTCN-3 Tool Plugtests.

This event will assess TTCN-3 standards ETSI  ES 201 873-1 V3.3.2 (2008-04), ES  201 873-4 V3.3.1 (2008-04) and ES 201 873-7 V3.3.2 (2008-04).

Benefits for the participating companies include:

- ETSI will provide  neutral event location where the TTCN-3 tools can be
assessed for their compliance to the standard based on the same agreed and standardized TTCN-3 test suite, i.e. the 3rd generation mobile reference test suite.
- ETSI will provide a testbed which will allow the execution of the reference test suite against its mirror test suite on different TTCN-3 tools
- The event will demonstrate the tool independence of TTCN-3 as a test specification language, the interoperability of TTCN-3 test systems, as well as the ability of participating tools to handle complex, industrial strength TTCN-3 code.
- The event will allow participating tool makers to communicate and market their participation as well as level of commitment and support to TTCN-3 technology.
- Test results for individual tools will be treated confidentially; The TTCN-3 community will have access to the overall results from this event.

Test Specification

The basis for the event are TTCN-3 test cases of the 3rd generation mobile reference test suite (ETSI TR 102 976) which have been derived from the 3GPP TTCN-3 benchmark test suite. The latest version of this test suite can be downloaded by clicking here.

BER or PER codecs shall be used to encode and decode messages.

The SUT adapter shall associate each TSI port with its own UDP socket and port number. The IP address shall be the same for all ports in a test system. The destination IP address and specific port numbers to be used for sending messages should be configurable, i.e., it should be possible to configure for  each TSI port to which IP address and port the SUT adapter shall sent encoded messages to.

Test network

ETSI will provide IP connectivity in the testbed as well as wireless access to public internet.
