Session 1
Grid & Cloud: differences and commonalities
The recent emergence of Cloud computing is the latest in a series of related technical and commercial developments enabled by the convergence of wide-area networking and computing. The presentations in this session will compare and contrast Grid and Cloud computing which are clearly related but differ significantly in their aims and approaches.

Industry visions of Service Oriented Infrastructures - Part 1
The presentations in this session should give a range of IT and Telco industry views of Service Oriented Infrastructure in the context of Grid and Cloud. It will provide insight into the future plans of major industry stakeholders with respect to the adoption of SOI. In anticipation of the Panel discussion, a discussion of the role of standardisation in encouraging this emerging market would be beneficial.

The presentations in this session will describe early successes and experiences from pioneers in this area. They should also discuss any future challenges in maximising the potential of Grids, Clouds and Service Infrastructures, including the need, if any, for standardisation.

Session 5
Emerging trends around Grids, Clouds & Service Oriented Infrastructures
The research projects invited to contribute to this session will present their view on specific topics inside the area of “Emerging trends around Grids, Clouds and SOI”. General project presentations are not appropriate. Identification and motivation of research challenges and the role of standardisation in exploiting anticipated results are especially of interest.

Panel 2
Paving the way for cooperative standards development
This session is the wrap-up session of the event with a panel discussion involving ETSI TC GRID and the chairs of each workshop session. This will give an opportunity to reflect on earlier presentations and discussions and to identify the next steps in the cooperative development of open standards for Grids, Clouds and Service Infrastructures.
