ETSI test event proves Interoperability between IMS Networks based on 3GPP and ETSI TISPAN Standards

The ETSI Technical Committee Satellite Earth Stations and Systems (TC SES) has developed a set of standards for the physical layer of Satellite Digital Radio (SDR) networks that will improve efficiency and encourage interoperability in the transmission of video, audio and data content directly to mobile receivers.

SIM card, handset and infrastructure testing has been successfully completed this week by ETSI Plugtests™ the interoperability service, in cooperation with SIMalliance.
A major part of the event was the SIM - Handset interoperability workshop, with operator deployment of new (U)SIM services now about to be launched, the workshop allowed companies to test - with partners and competitors - the behaviour of key USIM features in their products.

ETSI is set to make a major contribution to safeguarding young child users* of ICT products and services. In a report to the 'Safer Internet Programme' of the European Commission, ETSI Technical Committee Human Factors (HF) is calling on all industry players to become more 'child aware'.
