Testing Technologies support the ETSI protocol conformance and security test sessions as well as the C2C test session with their test automation platform TTworkbench:TESTINGTECH FOR BLOG

TTworkbench enables the execution of ETSI's TTCN-3 tests for the protocols GeoNetworking, BTP, CAM, DENM and MAP/SPAT.
Beyond pure pass or fail results, Plugtest participants recieve immediate feedback on executed test sequences - via the extensive graphical logging capabilities that show detailed information on each message.

The 7th ETSI ITS Workshop started Thursday morning at the same venue. After the wrap-up session, the ITS CMS 4 participants were kindly invited to join the Workshop participants for a networking coktail, which resulted in fruitful discussions:

Wednesday 25

An introduction of the ITS CMS 4 Plugtests event was proposed between 16:00 and 18:00 to the participants of the 7th ETSI ITS Workshop:

VISIT FOR BLOG

This was very successful with five tours and a total of 35 visitors. Thank you all for your time and exchanges with our visitors!

After the visit of the Plugtests event, participants had the opportunity to join a live on-street demonstration of ITS technologies that are tested during the ETSI Plugtest, to which COMMSIGNIA, ITRI, TASS and VIALIS contributed.

 DEMO CARS FINAL

Sitting at the back of the test vehicles, participants were given explanations by an expert while CAM and DENM messages, Roadworks Warning, Traffic Jam Warning and Emergency Vehicle Approaching demonstrations were performed.

All the proposed timeslots and three vehicles were quickly booked! The feedback from the passengers after this real-world demonstration was very positive.

4 ETSI Test Systems are being operated to assess compliance of ITS implementations to ITS Release 1 Base Standards:

CONFORMANCE TESTING 3 FOR BLOG

Radio room, octoScope setting:

OCTOSCOPE FOR BLOG

This set-up emulates the rural LOS, using the Tass presecan software to control octoScope quadAtten. The octoScope octoBoxes isolate the DSRC radios from external interference. Spirent channel simulator is used to do multi-path.

Radio room, Fraunhofer HHI setting:

HHI FOR BLOG

The test aims at determining how many packets are received by the DUT under different channel conditions. The equipment comprises a radio channel emulator (real-time simulator) and software from Fraunhofer HHI. The testing is done in two ways: with statistical channel models on the one hand, and with a replay of channel data based on HHI channel sounder measurements on the other hand.

Radio room, Vector setting:

 VECTOR FOR BLOG

Vector supports the test participants with CANoe.Car2x in the radio test bench. The tool analyzes sent messages and checks important parameters like positions, timestamps, destination area and signal strength. The map window displays the actually transmitted parameters compared to the predefined scenario to help the participants easily find any kind of problem.

KARTING FOR BLOG 3

The karting race and dinner were great fun.  Congratulations to the 16 teams!

Monday 23

Week 2 of the ITS CMS 4 testing event has started!
More than 20 vendors are testing on different test setups for conformance, interoperability and radio performance testing.

Each DUT is inside a shielding box. The DUTs can be supplied with power from externally and can be controlled via Ethernet or USB. The 3 shielded boxes are connected to an attenuator matrix with variable attenuation settings.

Michelle Wetterwald presented the work of STF 469 for an upcoming specification on DCC (Decentralized Congestion Control) for ITS-G5:

PRESENTATION ON DCC FOR BLOG

The objective of the DCC is to shape the ITS-G5 ad-hoc traffic to ensure proper operation of safety applications in case of high channel loads. Indeed, critical messages must be received even when a large number of ITS stations are present in the same area and share the same radio resources. Several test cases are already defined and are good candidates for a future interoperability event.
