Eligibility

Membership of ETSI is open to any company or organization interested in the creation of telecommunications standards and standards in other electronic communications networks and related services.

Various categories of membership are available, depending on the geographical location of the company or organization and the depth to which it wishes to be involved.

ETSI members' rights and obligations are defined in the ETSI Statutes and Rules of Procedures, contained in the ETSI Directives.

Full membership

Full membership of ETSI may be obtained by a legal entity, be it an association, a company, a grouping, an organization or a public authority, which is established in a country falling within the geographical area of CEPT and which commits itself to comply with the Statutes and Rules of Procedure of ETSI.
What rights do Full Members have? 

Associate membership

Associate Membership may be obtained by a legal entity, be it a company, a grouping, an organization which is not established in a country falling within the geographical area of CEPT and not eligible for Full membership (cf Art. 1 of the ETSI Rules of Procedure).
What rights do Associate Members have?

Observer membership

Observer membership may be obtained by a legal entity entitled to become a Full or Associate member. The rights are limited.
