ETSI TC ESI is developing standards for trust services to support electronic signatures and related services for securing e-commerce and online services.  Such trust services provide "digital certificates" which secure the authenticity of identities, and associated keys, which are then used to secure modern e-Commerce and Internet services in line with EU legislative requirements.

reach outETSI is producing European Norms for the practices (procedural and technical) of such trust service providers (TSPs) in line with the legal requirements, as well as a framework for TSP conformity assessment, which is to be applied by national bodies, to assure the correct application of these practices.

This workshop will bring together stakeholders in TSP conformity assessment (trust services providers, providers of applications using trust services, national TSP supervisory authorities, governmental and other bodies concerned with security)  to discuss the current ETSI specifications and requirements for the future direction of standards in this area.

During this event, you will be presented the new developments in Trust Service Provider Conformity Assessment considering requirements for web based server certificates and possible consequences of the new draft EU regulation 2012 238/2 on "electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions in the internal market".

Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss with those directly concerned with standardization and regulating trust services in Europe the current proposals for conformance assessment of certification authorities both for legally based electronic signatures and web based server certificates.

The workshop is of relevance to all those who have interest in regulation, audit and provision of trust services in Europe within a Global context.

Please note that the event will start at 10:00 am CET and finish at 17:00 followed by an informal get together.
