What does membership cost?

ETSI Membership fees are calculated depending on the type of membership:

Members and observers that join ETSI during the second half of the year are entitled to a 50% reduction on the  fees here below.

Members and associate members

Members' and associate members' fees are calculated by class. The class is derived from the member company's annual ECRT band (Electronics Communications Related Turnover). Each class corresponds to a number of units of contribution. This number determines the contribution or fees payable. It also determines the voting weight of a member in ETSI.

The cost of the first unit of contribution is €6,000 (except for universities, public research bodies, not-for-profit user associations and Micro-Enterprises). The cost of each additional unit is €3,380.

A full or associate member can voluntarily pay a higher contribution than that indicated in the table below.

**For full details of how the class is determined, see Rules of Procedure, Annex 2 in the ETSI Directives.

Not-for-profit user associations, universities and public research bodies pay a single unit of €2,000 per year. Micro-Enterprises pay a single unit of €3,000 per year.

Any ETSI member that participates in 3GPP™ must pay a minimum of 3 units of contribution, except SMEs, Micro-Enterprises, users, universities, and public research bodies; these need to pay a minimum of 2 units.

However, these minimum contribution levels need not apply where an organization with more than one membership of ETSI makes an overall contribution that exceeds €20k multiplied by the number of 3GPP memberships held by the administrations or companies.
