ICT Standards Board
The Information Communications Technologies Standards Board (ICTSB) is an initiative from the three ESOs with the participation of fora that are specification providers active in Europe in the field of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), in order to co-ordinate their activities for the development of ICT technical specifications.
The ICTSB has the role to co-ordinate the requirements for standards and specifications that are based on concrete market needs and expressed by any competent source.
The ICTSB has created individual Working Groups in the following activities:
- DATSCG - Design for All
- EESSI - Electronic signature (closed in 2004)
- ICTSF - ICT Standards (closed in 2005)
- ITSSG - Intelligent Transport
- NISSG - Network and Information Security
- SHSSG - Smart House
ICTSB is also involved in political initiatives which could be supported by standardization such as eEurope, as well as European research activities through EC Framework Programmes.
