ITS-G5 & DSRC workshop

Ispra, 4 July 2011, Italy

The first workshop on  the coexistence Interoperability of ETSI ITS-G5 and DSRC as used in European Electronic Toll Service (EETS) was held on 4th July 2011. This workshop was hosted by JRC in Ispra, Italy and was sponsored by the European Commission.

This workshop was held in conjunction with a Plugtests event on the same subject. The Plugtests event was also sponsored by the European Commission and supported by Autotalks and Agilent Technologies.
This was a very important event as without the use of special mitigation techniques, Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC equipment as used in European Electronic Toll Service (EETS)) operating in the frequency range from 5 795 MHz to 5 815 MHz might suffer from harmful interference caused by Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) using adjacent frequency bands. This Cross Technology Evaluation Plugtests event aimed to evaluate the detailed need of mitigation techniques and the corresponding parameters to avoid this interference.
