17-18 December 2008
The Single European Sky (SES) is an ambitious initiative to reform the architecture of European air traffic control to meet future capacity and safety needs.
Interoperability Regulation forms part of a package of legislation on air traffic management aimed at the creation of a Single European Sky.
The aim of this Regulation is to achieve interoperability between the different systems, constituents and associated procedures in the European air traffic management network and to ensure the introduction of new agreed and validated concepts of operations and technology in air traffic management.
This workshop is a joint initiative of the European Standardisation Organisations (CEN/CENELEC/ETSI), EASA, EUROCAE, EUROCONTROL and the European Commission. The purpose of the workshop was to raise awareness about the standardisation activities under the interoperability Regulation (552/2004/EC) of the Single European Sky package and to show a process of development of community specifications (CSs)
The event attracted about 40 participants.
Presentations were given by experts representing organizations such as DG TREN, EASA, EUROCONTROL, ICAO, ATMSCG, ICB, EUROCAE, CEN / CENELEC.
