ETSI

In March 2010 ETSI held its first workshop on Future Networks Technologies. One of the conclusions of this workshop was, that about one and a half years later another workshop on this topic would be helpful to see, how further standardization in this area should be progressed and what special technical issues should be targeted and how.

The goal of this workshop is to identify potential needs for standardization or pre-standardization of Future Network Technologies at ETSI.

TARGET AUDIENCE

  • Participants in related FP7 research projects
  • Participants in other research activities on the same subjects, such as from trans-national (e.g. EUREKA CELTIC) programmes and national (e.g. BMBF, System@TIC, IBBT…) programmes.
  • Participants in ETSI Technical Committees such as TISPAN, ATTM, CLOUD, M2M etc.
  • Participants in ETSI Industry Specification Groups such as AFI, INS, MOI etc.
  • Participants in 3GPP groups such as SA1, SA2, CT Working Groups
  • Participants in standardization activities at other organisations such as ITU-T and IETF
  • Standardization technical managers
  • CTO-level and technology management

The workshop is free and is open to non-members of ETSI upon registration.

The event agenda was built by the Programme Committee, on the basis of abstracts sent by numerous companies, further to the call for papers launched earlier this year.

ETSI TISPAN MEETING
This workshop is co-located with a meeting of the ETSI TISPAN committee which deals with standardization of networks.
Participants of this workshop are explicitly invited to attend the ETSI TISPAN meeting on Wednesday, 28 September, the day after the workshop, to analyse and discuss jointly the impact of the workshop results on standardisation (click here to register). This meeting may serve to pave the way for the integration of Future Network issues into standardisation.
If you are not an ETSI member and are yet interested to participate, please contact tispansupport@etsi.org .
